York 6 just started there expedition Taking Care of Business. The kids in York 6 are getting into groups and thinking about starting their own business for a fair that is going to happen at the end of this expedition.

Anthony, Isaac, Nasar and I are doing dance dance revolution (D.D.R.) for our business. D.D.R. is a game where you stand on a mat, and watch the TV screen and there are arrows that go up the screen and as the arrows reach the top of the screen, you have to stand on that color arrow. We hope you come to the York 6 Fair!

Me and my group have a business going that is DDR based. DDR stands for Dance Dance Revolution, a popular dancing video game. The idea of the video game is you have a dance mat, and arrows on the four sides of the mat. Small arrows fly up the screen at a good slow pace, and when they align with the outlines of the arrows on the top of the screen, you have to hit that arrow on your dance mat with your foot. The price of 1 song is $3

Our business is Dounuts on a String. We have a dounut on a string and the string is atached to a pole. Your hands get tide behind your back and you race to see who can eat there dounut first but if any of the dounut falls on the ground you are out of the race.

Kyle, Kolbe and I have a buiness called donuts on a string. How this works is you race how ever many people and you try to eat a donut off a string as fast as you can. The string hangs from the ceiling, the donut is tied to the bottom of the string so its at about head hight. In the end the fastest person to eat the donut off the string WINS! So come and play!

I’m working with Kyle and Ben and are business is Donuts on a String. Theres a bar that hangs and we tie a piece of string to the pole the the other end of the string on the donut. You race your friends and try to eat the donut first of the string and you cant use your hands. If the donut falls of you lose.

The way it works is we give you some pennies and there are some cups that have numbers on the bottom and when you get a penny in the cup we take the cup and look at the number.We have a line of prizes and if you get a number 2 you look at the prizes and find it in the number that your penny landed in and you get that prize.

My business is Coupons. Airlama Coupons! My two partners are Margret and Leyla. We sell coupons to the businesses in York 6, and to the people from elementary schools, Winsor 6, and other grown ups that come to our carnival in December. The coupons give discounts on ALL of the businesses that agree, and you buy them for low prices. The more coupons you have, the more stuff you can get. If you don’t have much money left, just get coupons at Airlama!

We have all kinds of games to play on either ps2 or xbox. It cost 5 (York) dollars to play for 3 minutes or 10 (York) dollars for 8 minutes. You can play 2 player or just play by yourself.

The the business I am doing is called CBJ’s Cake Walk. I am working with Bridget and Julie. A cake walk is a game where you have some chairs ( eight in my case ) and each of those chairs has a number on it. Eight people sit in the chairs and when the music starts to play everyone starts to walk around. When the music stops everyone has to sit in a different chair then the chair they started in. Then the person running the cake walk picks a random number out of a hat. Whoever is sitting the chair that has the number that got picked on it wins a peice of cake. Sounds fun , right?

I am working with Kiersten, Taiylor, and we have one great business! It’s called the Laugh Shack, can you hold in your laughter for 30 seconds as you enter the booth where you will be sure to laugh! If you dont we will give you an airhead or a laughy taffy, but listen up… even the people who are the most strict, and have noooo sense of humor… will crack up when they enter the Laugh Shack, and NO we won’t tell you what’s so funny, you have to find out yourself. 2-4 dollars we havent decided if its one or the other yet. Same with the candy airhead or laffy taffy? So c’mon and bring your laugh shack money!

I am working with Phoebe and Katie and we have a business called Dizzy Chicken Chase where you put a whiffle ball bat on your forhead and the bat on the floor and spin around and attempt to race the opponent to a rubber chicken at the end and the first one to the chicken is the winner and will recieve a prize but we haven’t decided what the prize will be. We will also have a “High Score Board” and if you beat the high score posted on the board than you will recieve a larger prize. The loser (non-winner) will recieve a small prize that we are thinking may be a small candy bag. The business I am doing is called Dizzy Chicken Chase and I am doing it with Erin and Katie, the point of our game is we dress up two people in baseball uniforms, we give them a bat and they spin five times around and then they try to run in a strait line to get the chicken first, who ever wins gets the grand prize the non-winner gets a funsize candy bag. Madeleine and I are selling Jelly beans. It will cost 2 dollars. The business is called Mystery Jelly Beans. The reson why we called it Mystery Jelly Beans is because we blind fold the person and then we get a little cup of jelly beans and then we give them one by one and then they have to tell us what the flaver is or if they dont want to guess the jelly beans then we will just give them a cup of jelly beans. We only give you like about 2 minites to guess every single jelly bean. It is really fun because you guess every single one that was in the little cup and then they get a prize if they get like 2 right they get a lafy tafy if you get one right then you get one jelly bean. If the big prize is a big hershey bar or a stuff animal or a lafy tafy. We are the only person that is selling jelly beans so if you like jelly beans then come to Mystery jelly beans. Really good jelly beans so come and guess the jelly beans.

My buisness is called S 4 Smoothies. We will be selling smoothies. We will have at least three or four flavors that we havent decided on yet. We will have small medium and large sizes. A small will be $2.00, a medium will be $4.00, and a large $6.oo. In music we are in the process of creating a radio commercial. We’re going to have a beginning with a bit of acting and then we will introuduce the song that we have come up with. We went on a field trip to the Maine Mall. Each group was assigned a store and they had interview the store manager. My group was interviewing the store manager from radio shack. We even got a copy of the mission statement, and some flyers, and advertisements. After your group finished the interview your group had to go on a scavenger hunt. There were different questions and we had to walk around the mall to find the answers. When the scavenger hunt was done we had to go window shopping, and find the window price, sale price after a discount, ext. all using sales tax. Then there was another activity with counting how many people walk by, stop to look, go in, and make a purchase at a store. IT WAS A GREAT TIME!
My group is still adapting our buisness, but we will soon be just like a real company!

My buisness is called Laugh Shack. We will bring in 2 people and you will have to sit there for 30 seconds with out laughing smiling or showing your teeth. It will cost from $2.00 to $3.00.the first person to laugh smile or show their teeth is out, and the person remaining will get an Air Head or a LaffyTaffy. If both the people do not laugh smile or show their teeth for the full 30 seconds then both people get a prize.

My business is the dizzy chicken chase. I’m doing it with Poebe and Erin. It costs in between 3$ and 5$. Of course there are also prizes!! The winner gets a baseball hat and the nonwinner will get a baseball. It’s a game that’s all about spinning and running. Before you start you either put on a Yankees or a Red Sox jersey and a baseball helmet. All you have to do is compete with another person to get the rubber chicken that’s only a few yards away. Here’s what makes it fun…… Before you run you have to put a wiffle bat on your forehead with the other end on the ground. Spin spin spin spin spin, five times. Then……. GET THAT CHICKEN!! There’s also going to be a a record time board. We will time you and if you go fast enough you could be put on the record time board!!! You might have to pay more, but will recieve a special prize……..

At the carnival, we will have a stand and be selling freshly made different flavored smoothies, including, strawberry, blueberry, bananna, rasberry and a bunch of other flavors plus a bunch of other stuff including things like mixed berry which is all flavors and other mixes of fruits that are displayed of your choice . We will sell small cup smoothies for 2 dollars, medium cup smoothies for 4 dollars, and large cup smoothies for 6 dollars. Also their will be cool coupons at the carival to get half price on them and get other special discounts on our delicous, yummy treats. You can also listen on the radio for our jingle. I think that our buisness of taking photos will do fabulous!!!!I that the people coming to out buisness will really enjoy dressing up and taking home a photo that will last a life time.
